Since 2006, we’ve been pedaling the Tour de Farms to highlight sustainable agriculture in the metro-Boston area.
The 2010 Tour de Farms is a bike ride that will depart from Urban AdvenTours and travel out through Cambridge and Somerville to visit urban gardens before arriving at Waltham Fields Community Farm. Riders will have an extended stop to explore the farm, at which a light lunch focused on the farm’s produce will be provided.
Riders will then be given the option to return to the city via the T at Alewife, or continue on the ride to visit Newton Community Farm and Allandale Farm in Brookline. The second leg of the ride will continue on at a faster pace, only intended for experienced cyclists. The ride will end at Urban AdvenTours. The ride to Waltham Fields is 15 miles. Total Mileage for the ride is 35 miles.
